Civil immunity for a health care provider if the patient who possesses the cannabidiol is a part of a clinical trial

Current Status

Gov. Eric Holcomb signed House Bill 1148 into law on Wednesday, April 27, 2017. It legalizes the use of cannabidiol for the treatment of epilepsy.


Medical Marijuana

Indiana provides civil immunity for a health care provider if the patient who possesses the cannabidiol is a part of a clinical trial. Conditions include:

– Epilepsy
– Lennox-Gestaut syndrome
– Dravet syndrome
– Other seizure disorders

Indiana allowed for the use of CBD for epilepsy patients on April 27, 2017.
