Current Status

As of right now, the state has not indicated when they will open the licensing period to would-be entrepreneurs but they are required to establish the rules and licensing procedures by January 1, 2018. Also, under the new law, only businesses that already have medical marijuana certificates will be allowed to apply for recreational licenses for the first 18 months the program is open.

So the earliest you can apply, if you’re not currently in the medical side, is June, 2019.

A registered medical marijuana patient may possess and grow: Possessing, delivering, or producing no more than 2 ½ ounces of usable marijuana 12 marijuana plants, irrespective of whether the plants are mature or immature.

Personal home cultivation for non-patients is largely prohibited.

Cannabis Possession Limit:
Adults 21 years of age and older may possess: 1 ounce of usable marijuana 3.5 grams of cannabis concentrate
